Spotlight On The 2015 Ford Edge

This week, The Car Guide is travelling to Arizona to get behind the wheel of the all-new 2015 Ford Edge, which is the second iteration of this midsize SUV that first rolled off of the assembly line in 2006. While it was slightly updated for 2011, we are now treated to a full-on evolution.

Built at the Oakville assembly plant in Ontario, the Edge is based on the CD4 platform, the same platform that underpins the Fusion. The SUV will offer three different engines: the base-model 3.5-litre V6, the new 2.6-litre Ecoboost V6 and a new 2-litre turbocharged inline-4 powerplant, which comes standard.

Styling-wise, the 2015 Edge is greatly inspired by the Edge Concept unveiled in Los Angeles in 2013. The production vehicle keeps a lot of the concept’s dynamic lines and bold styling. Inside, we are ‘’treated’’ to the latest generation of MyFord Touch… This system is not among our favorites, but we are willing to give it another chance.

Will the Edge keep its place as a luxury SUV? We will have to see, because the current model is not exactly cheap.

Don’t miss our full coverage this week.
