Spotlight On The Chevrolet Corvette Z06

This week, our very own Marc Lachapelle flies to Las Vegas to get behind the wheel of one of the most publicized cars of 2014, the Chevrolet Corvette Z06. To put the car through its paces, he will drive it on the Spring Mountain Motor Resort circuit, a 10 kilometre track that can be configured in more than 50 ways.

The Corvette Z06 is the ultimate American track-day toy. With its supercharged V8 delivering 650 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque, it can go from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 3 seconds. A seven-speed manual gearbox is standard, but it is now possible to order an eight-speed automatic. The best performance numbers are actually achieved with the automatic transmission.
