VelociRaptor 600: Hennessey's Super-F150

There is a market for full-size pickups that can handle high-speed off-road driving (that also happen to be sold at an insane price); Ford proved it with the Raptor. The truck was equipped with a 6.2-litre V8 and a lifted suspension. It was big and it was brash, but that did not stop people from buying them as soon as they could.

Texas-based Hennessey saw the first-generation Raptor as a base for more: they offered different kits to extract a huge quantity of horsepower from its V8.

With its VelociRaptor 600, Hennessey actually got ahead of Ford: the Dearborn brand may not have launched the next-generation Raptor yet, but that did not stop Hennessey from making their own.

This new VelociRaptor receives a unique grille, arch extenders, black wheels and off-road tires. Under the hood, the tuner adds a supercharger to the 5-litre V8 (no Ecoboost for this truck!), new fuel injectors, an air intake and a new exhaust to generate more than 600 horsepower.

Buyers can also choose to option their VelociRaptor with a winch, steel bumpers and a light bar.

The Hennessey VelociRaptor 600 starts at $73,600 and will be available at select Ford dealerships. It also comes wih a 3 year/36,000 mile warranty.
