Ferrari Forces Customers To Buy More Options

Everybody who has had the chance to sit in one is adamant: the Ferrari 458 Speciale is one of the best cars the Scuderia has ever produced. It drives perfectly, its engine is one of the most powerful V8s to ever come out of Italy and the sound that comes from its exhaust is one of humanity’s greatest musical achievements. This means that sales are pretty good, and there is a lengthy waiting period to get one.

However, it seems that Ferrari is being picky about its clients: some say that unless you order a fully-equipped model, your order may be bumped down the waiting list…

Some customers also say that their dealerships called them a few days after they put down their 20,000 euro cash deposit and asked them to choose more options from the catalogue, less they lose their spot on the waiting list to some other customer who ordered a more expensive car.

As a reminder, because it’s probably the ultimate naturally-aspirated V8 Ferrari many people are buying them as an investment, and this drive prices up.
