Dodge Announces Pricing for the 2015 Charger

If you fell in love with the styling of the 2015 Dodge Charger (or with the fiendish Hellcat engine that lurks under its hood), it’s time to put your money where your mouth is and secure a deposit on one, since the manufacturer just unveiled exactly how much each version will cost.

  • First of all, the base-model SE starts at $32,495. For that price, you get the 3.6 litre Pentastar V6 pumping out 292 horsepower, an 8-speed automatic transmission and decent fuel economy for a full-size sedan (7.7 litres per 100 km on highway).
  • The SE AWD adds (as its name implies) all-wheel drive for $34,695. In regular driving, the car is only powered by its rear wheels. When the system detects a loss of traction, it sends power to the front.
  • On the $35,595 Charger SXT, Dodge adds fog lights, 18 inch wheels, dual-zone climate control, heated front seats, a six-speaker sound system and a slew of other features that turn the cockpit into a very comfortable place to be. AWD can also be fitted to this version for a $2,200 premium.
  • The Charger R/T gets the 370 horsepower, 5.7 litre Hemi V8 and the eight-speed automatic transmission. It can be yours for $39,495, and a Road & Track package ($41,495) is available to spice up the car’s looks.
  • The Scat Pack ($46,495) trades the 5.7 Hemi for a 6.4 litre version producing 485 horsepower and 475 pound-feet of torque. It also gets sport suspension and Brembo brakes.
  • The SRT 392 may have been relegated to second place, but it still remains interesting: starting at $50,495, it also gets huge 15.4-inch Brembo brakes up front, a suspension modified by SRT, an 18-speaker sound system and a unique steering wheel.
  • And finally, the Dodge Charger Hellcat can be yours for $64,495. At that price, you not only get a huge amount of standard equipment, you also get to drive the world’s fastest production sedan.

Flexing muscles is a top priority when you’re in the muscle car business, but instead of measuring muscle mass, it’s the horsepower numbers that dictate who’s got the biggest biceps. Chevy ruffled a few feathers when it introduced the Camaro ZL1 with 580 horsepower, and it wasn’t long before Ford …
