FCA Enters The New York Stock Exchange

The Fiat/Chrysler group just hit another important milestone: since October 13th, the manufacturer has had shares traded on the New York Stock Exchange.

Listed under the name FCAU, the shares started the day at $9 apiece. They stayed consistent throughout the day, before closing at $8.82 with 5.8 million trades. Considering that the Dow Jones dropped about 222 points that day, Chrysler/Fiat can be proud of those results.

Interrogated after this first day, FCA president Sergio Marchionne said he thinks automakers are somewhat undervalued at the NYSE, and that he expected this kind of outcome.

To mark this important event, FCA brought their most important vehicles to be displayed on Wall Street (including a red Ferrari LaFerrari) and Sergio Marchionne himself rang the bell that marks the end of the day’s trades.
