Nissan Pulsar Nismo: Another Forbidden Fruit
Around here, the Pulsar name does not ring many bells (except for the minority who remember Nissan’s coupe from the eighties), but in the rest of the world, it was Nissan's no-nonsense little hatchback. It was FWD, and it had a four-cylinder engine. However, Nissan also developed a more manic version of the little Pulsar: this one was intended to race in Group A rally, it was turbocharged and it could run from 0 to 100 km/h in 5 seconds flat, seriously surprising quite a few sports car of the era.
Nissan just unveiled the latest Pulsar, and the Nismo Performance division has already been hard at work building a sportier version: the Pulsar Nismo was shown almost at the same time as the standard production version.

Styling-wise, the Pulsar Nismo is impressive: it is painted matte gray, and its front fascia and side skirts all feature red accents. The back of the car is also decorated with red trim pieces, and even the inside of the exhaust is red, giving the impression that there is a heart of fire under the hood!
Inside, the red accenting continues, with alcantara seats, door cards and dashboard. The steering wheel is unique, and the Pulsar Nismo also features alloy pedal covers.
While we don’t know about the type of engine that sits under the hood, Nismo points out that the car is equipped with a more aggressive suspension. Rumours also float around about a turbocharged 1.8 litre mill producing 266 horsepower…
