BMW 2-Series Convertible Unveiled

Just before being officially shown to the public at the Paris Auto Show, BMW decided to reveal the new 2-Series Convertible. If you were expecting anything more than a regular 2-Series with its roof chopped off, you will be disappointed, since that's pretty much what this car is.

This means that the models used in the coupe will be carried over to the convertible, from the the base-model 228i with its 241 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque to the M235i and its 322 horsepower and 332 lb/ft of torque. As usual, Europe gets a a few other engines, like a slew of diesel mills.

The soft top needs about 20 seconds to fully retract, and can be ordered in black, anthracite or brown.
Compared to the old 1-Series Convertible, the trunk is 9% more spacious when the top is down. BMW also points out that you can now fit a pair of snowboards into said trunk, a crucial argument for a summer car.

The 2-Series convertible will soon be available at dealerships, and should be priced from $38,850 for the 328i, all the way up to $48,650 for a top of the line M235i.
