Ferrari Enzo's Prototype Up For Sale

At the turn of the century, Ferrari was developing the car that would bring performance into another era: the Ferrari Enzo. While engineers were at work on the revolutionary body, another team was busy trying to come up with an engine worthy of Il Commendatore's name. A fire-breathing 6.2L V12 was built from the ground-up, but they had to find a way to test it on a track without alerting every paparazzi within a 200 kilometre radius that they were building a new supercar. To do this, they came up with a brilliant plan: they took the chassis from a Ferrari 348, lengthened it, and added some parts out of a F355 to create a unique test mule capable of housing the massive 670 horsepower V12.

This singular piece of history is now up for grabs, and since it is one of the only prototypes ever sold by Ferrari, it won't come cheap.

It is actually the second time this car has been on the market: in 2011, the current owner bought it for $1,060,000.
