A Chevrolet Silverado For The University Of Texas

Chevrolet has just unveiled a special edition of its Silverado specially tailored for fans of the University of Texas (and its Football team, the Texas Longhorns).

The truck is painted in the school's official colour, Burnt Orange. A white stripe adorned with the team's logo runs down both sides of the vehicle's bed, and a set of chrome sidesteps now come standard.

This package will cost $795 US, and is only available on LT or LTZ models already equipped with the Texas package.

While this model may seem like a weird idea, GM's marketing team actually hit the bull's eye: First of all, Texas is one of the biggest markets for truck sales worldwide. Second, fans of the Texas Longhorns are a majority: one in three households prefer this team to any other. And finally, a study revealed that these fans were twice as likely to buy a pickup truck as any other customer.
