Dodge Challenger A/T Untamed: A Muscle Car For The Trails

There are two places where you can enjoy a muscle car: the boulevard and the drag strip. Everywhere else, their flaws become clearly apparent.

J. Ruiter, a designer, had the original idea of transforming the big Dodge Challenger into an off-road machine equally at ease on dirt trails, forest roads and in the city. These three digital renderings show us what to expect of his creation, the Challenger A/T Untamed.

The Challenger A/T differs from the production model in a number of elements: it has an all-new rear axle, additional protection plates are bolted underneath the car to protect its vital organs, the wheel arches are flared, the suspension is raised and the stock wheels are replaced with knobby tires. To make sure it can drive in the dark, a light bar is mounted on the front bumper.

Under the hood, J. Ruiter would use a tuned version of the Pentastar V6, stating that it is lighter and would help balance the car better. In my opinion, this is the only flaw in the plan, since a Challenger without its Hemi instantly loses a lot of appeal…

So far, the Challenger A/T only exists in these renderings, but Ruiter would love to find a customer with the means to finance this project.
