Ford Just Began Building The 2015 Mustang

The workers at the Flat Rock assembly plant just started assembling the next-generation Ford Mustang, which should be available at dealerships in autumn.

This is a new era for Ford’s Pony car. Not only is it the first production Mustang to feature an independent rear suspension (since the 1999-2004 Mustang Cobras are not considered as production models), but it will also come with a turbocharged 4 cylinder engine that pumps out more power than the standard V6.

Even better, this is the first time the Mustang will be sold in more than 120 countries worldwide. To do so, the American factory will also produce Mustangs in right-hand drive configurations. These cars will be exported to the Australian, South African and English markets, among others.

The Flat Rock assembly plant employs 3000 people, who build the Mustang and the Ford Fusion (while its European version, the Ford Mondeo, is assembled in Belgium and Russia).
