We Might Get Our Hands On The Next Focus RS

European buyers were offered the previous generation of the Focus RS, a FWD monster with a 305 horsepower five-cylinder engine (and a very clever system called the RevoKnuckle, used to nullify the torque steer that would otherwise send the car into the nearest tree). However, we never had the opportunity to get the RS, since our Focus was not the same as the one sold in Europe.

Rumors have been running rampant about the next generation of the Focus RS, and whether or not it will be coming here. It would seem that we will get the next super Focus, albeit in very limited numbers.

This car will use the 2.3 litre Ecoboost engine that will also be found in the next Mustang. In this application, the mill could develop around 350 horsepower. Another rumor states that the RS would use a new AWD system, developed for high-performance applications. With those specs this car could seriously ruffle the feathers of the Volkswagen Golf R.

The future will tell us if the rumours are true, but we would love to see a new Focus RS here!
