Prefix Medusa: A Viper Without its Top

As you know, sales of the Dodge Viper have not been as good as the manufacturer had hoped. It is not a bad car, far from it, but with a starting price of $100,000 ($125,00 for the GTS version) the Viper finds itself competing against cars with a better interior, more performance or with a nobler pedigree. This is why a convertible version of the venomous snake has not yet been announced. This is unusual for the Viper, because the previous generations usually came out as a convertible first, before being introduced as a coupe version later on.

The American tuner Prefix just solved that problem with its Medusa, which is essentially a Viper with its roof chopped off. Production will be limited to 10 units, and each converted car will be sold with a few accessories: a numbered plaque to guarantee the craftsmanship, Medusa badges on the sides, the X-brace under the hood painted the same colour as the car, and matching carpets. There is no mention of other structural reinforcements, which is a little worrying since cutting the roof off a car usually makes it a lot less rigid...

So how much for this unique Viper? $35,000, and that excludes the price of the vehicle itself, of course.
