Photos of the Next Mazda2 Leaked

The Internet just coughed up another interesting find: leaked pictures of Mazda's next sub-compact hatchback, the Mazda2 (also known as the Mazda Demio in Japan).

The first thing we see is how closely the Mazda2 resembles the Hazumi Concept unveiled in Geneva earlier this year. Usually, production cars get toned down before they reach dealerships, so we are quite happy to see this was not the case here.

We also get a good look at the interior, which is very similar to the current Mazda3. This is a good thing, since we have nothing but praise for it.

The next Mazda will feature Skyactiv technology, meaning that the platform and engines will be completely new.

Speaking about engines, we don't know exactly what sits under this Mazda's hood. However, rumour tells us about a 1.5 liter 4-cylinder engine, and maybe a diesel for international markets.

We will know more about the Mazda2 when it is officially launched at the Paris Motor Show, on October 4.
