Acura Unveils Pricing for the TLX

Acura’s new midsize luxury sedan, which will replace the TSX and the TL, will arrive in dealerships in August. To shine among some fierce competitors, like the Audi A4, the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, the Infiniti Q50, the Cadillac ATS, the Lexus IS and the BMW 3 Series, among others, the TLX will feature some impressive technologies and an interesting starting price.

Three models will be available: First of all, the base version will be offered with a 2.4L 4-cylinder engine and an 8-speed twin-clutch automatic gearbox. Pricing starts at $34,990, which is less than the outgoing TSX. While it is only FWD, it is equipped with Acura’s P-AWS, which allows the rear wheels to steer in the direction of the turn.

Then there is the 3.5L V6-equipped model. This mill pumps out 290 HP, and you may recognize it, since it powers pretty much everything that comes from Honda/Acura these days. In the TLX, it is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission. And at $41,690 (including the Technology package), it cost less than the last TL did.

The range topper is the TLX SH-AWD which, as its name implies, comes with Acura’s SH-AWD all-wheel drive system and the V6 engine. With a base price of $39,990, it might be an alternative to the German competition.

The 4-cylinder versions will arrive in August, and the other models should follow suit.
