Recalls for the Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse and GMC Acadia

Running out of fuel is not really a problem anymore. With the invention of the fuel gauge, the only thing you can blame when you end up with a dry tank on the side of the road is your own lack of planning… Or if you own a 2014 Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse or GMC Acadia, the vehicle’s computer!

GM issued a recall for its full-size crossover. An error in the computer’s programming can cause a difference between the fuel level displayed on the dashboard gauge and the actual fuel remaining inside the tank. According to the manufacturer, the gauge in the car is a bit optimistic, so you may run out of gas while the needle is still somewhere over the red…

If you own one of these vehicles, GM will reprogram the computer free of charge to solve this issue. It only takes a few minutes and it is completely free. The manufacturer has yet to alert owners, so in the meantime, don’t take any chances, keep the fuel gauge above 1/4!
