Morgan Celebrates the 100th Birthday of its Factory with a Special Plus 8

Morgan is a small English manufacturer which has been building sports car for more than a century. To celebrate the 100th anniversary of their Pickersleigh Road factory, they decided to produce a special edition of their Plus 8, one of their most popular models.

Morgan designs quite unique cars. They are all hand-made, and the chassis are usually made of wood. The body is aluminium, but it is hand-formed with hammers and English wheels. The mechanical components of the car, however, are quite modern: racing suspension, BMW V8 engine producing 367 HP, 6-speed manual transmission... The Plus 8 goes from 0 to 100 in 4.5 seconds, on its way to a top speed of 247 km/h.

The Special Edition cars will be Speedster versions, meaning they will feature a very small windshield and low-back seats. They will also feature side exhausts, and can be painted in a variety of classic colors.

The Morgan Plus 8 Speedster will cost around $120,000, and the company will start taking orders soon.

More info and images will be released in the coming days.
