Lexus : A Small Luxury Crossover Named NX

The small luxury crossover segment is a hot market right now, and Lexus wants in on that action. To do so, they will unveil the Lexus NX in Beijing. This model will slot in as their entry-level SUV, positioned just under the RX model.

The new vehicle will be sold in North America in two different versions: the hybrid NX 300h, and the NX 200t. This one will be powered by an all-new 2.0L turbocharged engine. Buyers will be able to choose between a front-wheel drive and a 4WD layout.

Styling wise, this new compact SUV looks a lot like the LF-NX Concept unveiled at the 2013 Frankfurt Auto Show.

For more information on this competitor to the Audi Q3 and Mercedes-Benz GLA, follow our website in the next few weeks because the Beijing Auto Show starts on April 20!

In 1998, when the newly formed Lexus division introduced the RX, few people (not even the brand’s management team) realized that a new category was being born: the intermediate luxury crossover segment.
