The new RAM Power Wagon is Shown in New York

If you like big trucks and want an off-road rig (and not a pre-runner trophy truck like the Ford Raptor), look no further than the 2015 RAM Power Wagon, which is unveiled at the New York Auto Show.

Based on the RAM 2500 4X4 Crew Cab, the Power Wagon comes with a 6.4L HEMI engine, producing 410 HP and 429 lb-ft of torque. The only available transmission is a 6-speed automatic.

The Power Wagon offers lots of off-road goodies, like a 2 inch (5 cm) suspension lift, 33 inch Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac tires, Bilstein shocks, beefier front and rear axles, a Borg-Warner transfer case and an electronically disconnecting sway bar.

All this tech gives the RAM some impressive stats: 37 cm of ground clearance, 34 degree approach angle, 23.5 departure angle, and 25.5 degree breakover angle. It can also ford a stream up to 0.8 meters deep.

If you ever get stuck in one of these trucks, you will be glad to learn the Power Wagon comes standard with a 12,000 pound (5443 kg) Warn winch.

The Power Wagon is not competing against the Raptor, the two vehicles being intended for very different audiences.

The RAM should sell at around $45,690 for a base version, all the way to $56,000 for the Laramie version.
