Volvo Unveils the Concept XC Coupe

Unlike the Volvo Concept Coupe unveiled in Frankfurt which was in the form of a high-end coupe, the Volvo Concept XC Coupe - scheduled to be unveiled in Detroit next month - is a little different.

We anticipate that the model will be morphed into new designs for the upcoming 2015 XC90 SUV and possibly for a future ultra-compact SUV.

Given the shape and design of the XC Concept Coupe, one can easily imagine that the 2015 XC90 might inherit a five-door coupe look. This would be similar to the BMW X6, of course.

On the other hand, it is also possible that we are in the presence of a future sub-compact luxury SUV that would compete with the Audi Q3 and Mercedes-Benz GLA.

Either way, the coupe retains many of Volvo’s signature styling cues that are sure to be passed onto many models. Details will be released prior to the opening of the Detroit motor show on Jan 13, 2014.
