2015 Hyundai Genesis Unveiled in South Korea

The manufacturer is preparing to bring the new version of its large Genesis sedan to market in South Korea.

As expected, the car proudly bears the new Fluidic Sculpture design language of the brand. This second generation of the Genesis has a more solid look to it and adopts the four-door coupe style. Its imposing hexagonal grille only adds to a more muscular look as do the larger headlights and fog lights (all LED.)

More Spacious

Although the car has a similar total length, its wheelbase is increased by 75 mm. Passengers will benefit from much more generous interior space, particularly for the legs and shoulders. The Interior also receives very rich-looking materials, fixtures and colors.

More Powerful

Depending on the target markets, the 2015 Hyundai Genesis sedan offers a choice of four different engines:

    3.0-litre V6 with 257 horsepower and 224 lb-ft of torque;
    3.3-litre V6 with 282 horsepower and 256 lb-ft of torque;
    3.8-litre V6 with 315 horsepower and 293 lb-ft of torque;
    5.0-litre V8 with 425 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque.

All these engines are mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Acceleration Times

    With the 3.0L V6, the car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.6 seconds.
    With 3.3 L V6, the car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.2 seconds.
    With the 3.8L V6, the car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.5 seconds.
    With the 5.0 L V8 engine , the car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds.
