Mazda Wants to Sell 500 000 Mazda3s Per Year

The 2014 Mazda3 arrived in dealerships earlier in the fall but the Europeans had to wait until November month to be able to obtain one.

Completely revised and redesigned, the Mazda3 is still available in sedan and five-door hatchback configurations. The car makes use of SKYACTIV technology from bumper to bumper.

Masamichi Kogai, the head of Mazda, told Reuters that the manufacturer had big ambitions for its new Mazda3.

500,000 units sold annually

Senior management at the Hiroshima-based manufacturer plans to deliver 500,000 units annually of the new model.

Last year, sales of the Mazda3 exceeded 375,000 units worldwide, which represents 30 % of Mazda’s total sales.

If we add the sales of the new Mazda3 those popular Mazda CX -5 and Mazda6, as well as other models, there is every reason to believe that Mazda could reach its goal to sell 1.7 million vehicles per year.
