Specially Designed Volkswagen Beetle and Golf R at the SEMA Show

Volkswagen has no intention of letting the Americans, Japanese and Koreans dominate the SEMA Show, which is why the German automaker has designed four special versions of the Beetle, plus a custom Golf R, for the occasion.

With 2013 marking the Beetle’s 75th anniversary, it’s no surprise that Volkswagen has chosen this legendary vehicle to attract people to its booth.

The four Beetles are joined by an extra-sharp Golf R.

In all, five Volkswagen vehicles will be on display at the SEMA Show:

  • Beetle APR-VWvortex Turbo: Powered by a 500-hp engine
  • Beetle Beach Battle-Cruiser: Targeting California surfers
  • Beetle Galpin Auto Sports: Hot-rod style with a modern touch
  • Beetle FMS Automotive: Homage to the 1956 and 2012 Beetles
  • Beetle Rotiform: A nice reminder of the modified Beetles seen in the 1950s
  • Golf R H&R: Ultra-light, H&R suspension, BBS wheels and Pirelli P Zero tires
