First time Prius family is available for ride and drive in Toronto

Torontonians visiting the Green Living Show this weekend will have the opportunity to test drive a Toyota or Lexus hybrid to experience how an environmentally friendly vehicle can fit in their lives.

“Toyota has long been committed to helping Canadians make sustainable lifestyle choices,” said Stephen Beatty, Managing Director at Toyota Canada Inc. “We are excited to give Canadians a chance to drive some exceptional hybrid vehicles that have a significant impact on reducing our collective environmental footprint. Thanks to innovative new vehicles, such as the Toyota Prius family, visitors to the show have a chance to experience how hybrids move from niche to mainstream as they combine environmental sustainability with sleek design, spacious interiors and an array of standard premium features.”

The Green Living Show offers Torontonians their first opportunity to test drive the three members of the Prius family - the Prius Liftback, Prius v and the newest member, the all-new Prius c, which is the market’s lowest-priced hybrid (MSRP of $20,950) and most fuel-efficient vehicle without a plug (3.7 L/100 km). Attendees can also drive a Toyota Camry Hybrid, Toyota Highlander Hybrid, Lexus RX Hybrid and Lexus CT200h.

For the fourth consecutive year, Toyota is proud to be the presenting sponsor of the show’s “Farm Fresh Fare” feature, to promote the environmental benefits of fresh, sustainable homegrown food. Local farmers and producers provide Toronto chefs with great food to create gourmet dishes that can be sampled for $2 to $4. Some of the proceeds go to Toyota’s CSR partner Evergreen, to support their Children’s Food program as well as Slow Food Toronto’s Learning Garden programs.

The Green Living Show takes place Friday, April 13 to Sunday, April 15, 2012, at the Direct Energy Centre at Exhibition Place in Toronto. For more information, visit www.greenlivingonline.com/torontoshow/.
