2013 Hyundai Santa Fe: Unrecognizable!

South Korean automaker Hyundai has just posted a sketch of the 2013 Santa Fe on the internet.

This third-gen vehicle will make its world premiere at the New York International Auto Show.

Having first launched in 2000, the second generation of the Santa Fe was released in 2008. In all, more than 2.5 million units have sold worldwide, including 170,000 in Canada alone.

Design language
Currently, most Hyundai products are crafted with the same “Fluid Sculpture” design language – including the Santa Fe. However, the third generation of this SUV will feature the all-new “Storm Edge” approach.

According to company designers, this new vision includes bolder style elements inspired by natural phenomena that occur when a storm is brewing.

One such example is the new hexagonal grille, which breaks from the brand’s latest models.

In keeping with trends in this category, it will feature two-tone body and bumpers, for a more mature look.

All this suggests that the next Santa Fe will move up a notch, cornering in on the more lucrative intermediate SUV market.
